Creativity is part of my core ,and it has evolved over the years. It started with the desire to tell stories after my mom introduced me to one of her romance novels while I was in high school. I loved the story and the inspiration to write romance novels was born. As it turned out, my writings never really mimicked what I read and for that I am eternally grateful. I believe that creativity - for that matter story telling - should be unique to the writer/author. To date, I have published under the names:
Augustina E. Rolle
A. Elsa Rolle
Initially, my first novel: Behind Closed Doors was secular, but life's changes altered that stand for me after I became a born-again Christian in 1999 and now my writings have a Christian theme to them. In 2022, while completing the first semester of my MBA, I prayed on how I could use the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ to really help people bring meaningful and lasting changes to their lives. As you know, walking by faith is an integral part of Christianity and the mind and its renewal play a great role in our faith and talk walk, so to speak. And thus, my epitome moment came during my studies to help people with chronic mental issues using the gospel of Jesus Christ to help them gain deliverance from mental struggles. I also realized that every human has a mental issue because as long as you have a brain in your head, your mind will be under attack by your thoughts at some point or the other. The question is, how severe are these attacks in a given moment? So, my research on mental health was a huge eye opener. The 2 most alarming findings was that mental health is an epidemic in the United States, which results in a suicide attempt every 11 minutes according to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). And the second being that in spite of efforts by CDC and their collaborators, they see little to no impact in suicide cases - whether attempted or the actual act. To further highlight the importance of this cause, here is a small excerpt from my paper:
"According to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2020, 45,979 people died by suicide in the United States, which is 1 death every 11 minutes. Overall, 12.2 million adults seriously thought about suicide, 3.2 million adults made a plan, while 1.2 adults attempted suicide. The CDC's data further revealed that for every suicide death, there are:
Isn't that alarming? Knowing the truth and power of God's word, I knew without a doubt that their breakthrough was through correct application of the Word of God. Mark you, it is not a onetime fix, because the attacks of the mind will be with us as long as we are alive here on Earth. However, knowing how to defeat these attacks will bring victory every time. If God, is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31b)
Personally, I have not attempted suicide. However, I have not been exempted from the thoughts of doing so. The trials and issues of life have a way of bringing these harmful thoughts to our minds. There was a particular time when everything was going well in my life, and I was waiting for the bus to go to work and out of nowhere, the thought came to me to throw myself under the moving bus. What? I was happy. I wasn't depressed. I was just waiting for the bus. And so, I realized back then, that it is very important to examine every thought and bring it into subjection to the Word of God as the Scripture advice. Notwithstanding, I have relatives who have attempted suicide and it is mental anguish to be pushed to that end, however understanding the tactics of the enemy over our thoughts and mind can set us free.
So, the focus for me is clear, the audience is clear, and I am extremely grateful for one less mental battle as to what my ministry's focus is about. This is actually an update from what I originally wrote here when this website was first published. Going forward, you will notice the changes in my focus across my various online and other outlets.
Outside writing, I enjoy crafting and selling my products. I find crafting very therapeutic, and it takes me back to the days as a child and young adult when I would watch (and help in various ways) my mom doing her craft work to fulfill orders and maintain the stock in her brick-and-mortar store.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope that my writings and creativity inspire you to continue to cherish and love those in your circle and beyond and that you welcome and embrace opportunities that foster growth for yourself and humanity at large. Please drop me an email and subscribe!
